Can Phone Cases Affect Signal?

In a word, yes. Phone cases can affect signal. The operative word being “can”.  Certain materials can affect a phones signal or connectivity in an adverse way.  The good news is that the majority of cases do not affect your phones connectivity in any way.  Conductive materials such as Carbon Fibre or aluminium can dramatically affect your phones signal. Also, cases with magnetic clips or accessories can also have an impact.

How to tell if my phone case is affecting my signal

So, nothing complicated here, simply make a number of calls with the phone case on off and compare the two.

For the most reliable results. Pick a designated area and make a number of phone calls to somebody else. Split the number of calls between “case on” and “case off” and measure the performance between the calls.  If your phone case is interfering with your reception, it will be quite evident.

Do I need to avoid signal blocking cases.

It depends, carbon fibre is an incredibly popular material for phone cases, however it is one of the wors offenders for blocking signal. However, many manufacturers have employed creative design methods to minimise or eliminate signal blocking effects from their cases. It’s best to contact the case supplier beforehand and question whether their product blocks phone connectivity in any way.

CaseFace stock a range of Carbon Fibre Cases that are fully tested and guaranteed non interference.

The good news is that we choose cases which have no affect on your phones signal. All our stock is tested and guaranteed fully compatible with the model it is designed for. So, what are you waiting for, shop our range of phone cases now.
